16 COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES IN CAR GET WORLD RANKS

Public and Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Cordillera region have received a significant boost in reputation, with 16 schools recently included in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2024. These 16 HEIs, which include six state colleges and universities, met WURI’s assessment standards, enhancing trust in the quality education they offer. This recognition helps the institutions adapt to rapidly changing times. WURI evaluates the real world impact of higher education institutions on industry and society, focusing on innovative education,
research, and community engagement.

It aims to highlight HEIs with innovative approaches to inspire progress in academics and society. Cordillera schools in the Global Top 399 universities include: • Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC)– 146th, University of Baguio (UB) – 159th , Kalinga State University – 160th, Saint Louis University (SLU) – 162nd, University of the Cordilleras (UC) – 166th, Ifugao State University (IFSU) – 174th, – 193rd, Abra State Institute of Science and Technology (ASIST) – 201st, Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) – 260th, King’s College of the
Philippines (KCP) – 279th, Apayao State College – 287th

In specific categories, Cordillera schools also ranked highly: • UB (1st), KCP (7th), SLU (20th), MPSPC (23rd), Saint Louis College of Bulanao (35th), and Pines City Colleges (48th) for Student Support and Engagement, Star Colleges
(70th) – for Student Mobility and Openness, UC (6th) – for Generative Artificial Intelligence Application, Saint Louis
College of Bulanao (3rd), SLU (5th), UC (12th), and BSU (18th)- for Industrial Application, IFSU (3rd), KSU (10th), MPSPC (14th), ASIST (17th), CCDC (18th), ASC (27th), and BSU (64th) – for Entrepreneurial Spirit, IFSU (7th), KSU (9th), BSU (11th), KCP (16th), Baguio Central University (BCU) (17th), and ASC (20th) – for Crisis Management, SLU (2nd), Easter College, Inc. WURI rankings reflect the success of their educational reforms, ensuring their graduates are globally competitive.
