2 COVID-19 patient recorded in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Mayor Darwin Estranero, advised all Tabukeños to stay home, remain vigilant and limit unnecessary travel outside residences following the first recorded corononavirus disease arrived in the city.
Estranero said the patient tagged as K-01 is 30 year old displaced construction worker from Barangay Gobgob who arrived from Caloocan City with his family.
He is one of those brought home by the Oplan Padatong (Balik Probinsya) – a privately organized project that also did the initial rapid test in Manila.
When they arrived in Tabuk, they went in triaged and subjected to rapid testing at the City Holding Area at Agbannawag, where K-01 was found to be asymptomatic and is IgG reactive.
Thereafter, he was referred to the City Isolation Unit for swabbing and mandatory 14-day quarantine. The specimen was sent to Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Center in Baguio City and yielded positive result on June 10.
The second patient K-02 is a 51 year old male Overseas Filipino Worker in Abu Dhabi and resident of Dagupan West.
He was brought to Cagayan Stadium in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan by the OWWA and fetched by the Tabuk City Government on June 6.
The trip was coordinated by the OWWA to the DILG that also made the coordination with the city government.
He tested IgG+ at the Agbannawag holding area in Tabuk City that prompted to have him swabbed on June 8.
The test result confirmed that he is COVID-19 positive on June 11. He is presently quarantined at the City Isolation Unit being monitored by the City Health Office.
