After more than a month of barangay- based nutrition activities, the 49th nutrition month culminating and service awards program went on last Friday morning, August 4, at the Pedro Dumol Hall, BENECO, South Drive. At least three hundred members of the community, nutrition workers and service awardees, and barangay officials braved the intermittent rain and winds, and attended the half-day event which bannered the theme, “Healthy Diet: Gawing Affordable for All.”

Mayor Benjamin Magalong, represented by Executive Assistant Vic Jimenez expressed gratitude to the hardworking nutrition workers, with assurance of citywide support for all the programs; for the children, young and matured citizens, lactating mothers and persons with disabilities (PWD), and the elderly. Committee chair on sanitation, health, environmental and ecological concerns, Councilor Betty Lourdes Tabanda offered tips on cooking simple dishes using easy-to-find ingredients.
