Camp John Hay GC teams on Thursday surged in their respective divisions of the 74th Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational here. Camp John Hay 1 gained back to lead in FIL “A” with 363 while its sister team, capitalized their familiarity in John Hay course , scored 116 for a three-round total of 284 and built a 10-point lead in AM “B”. Luigi Paolo Wong signed 33 points at Baguio Country Club (BCC) and lifted Camp John Hay 1 for the lead, but just a two points advantage over second running Forest Hills 1 with 361 while Eastridge-Primehomes in third with 345 points.
Supporting Wong in the third round are Melchor Carlos Rabanes II and Emilio Antonio Curran who signed an identical 26 while Leonard Corpuz contributed 23. While scoring for John Hay 2 are George Punasen (33), John Gerald Marasigan (31), Bayan Tecson (28) and Ramo Luis ” Monet” Garcia (24) for a total of 116 and gave them the AM “B” lead followed by Team M (274) and Team Surigao 2 (259). Meanwhile, action in the premiere Championship flights in both divisions will resume Friday.
The FIL Championship flight with Eastridge-Primehomes , protecting a 5-point edge (297) over Southwoods 1 (292) will have their fairway battles at BCC . While in the AM Championship flight with Batangas Barakos team leading the group with a shaky one point advantage (234) over Southwoods 2 (233) will see action at John Hay. Other top contenders after 54 holes in the tournament with Januarius Holdings, Inc. as the title sponsor and supported by A Brown, Eastridge, and Toyota as event presenter while Alveo, Tipsy Pig, Aquatico, Moto Lubricant, Master Siomai, Robinsons Land, and Britanny as backers are: For FIL “B” -Pearl KAI GC (311), Moto Team 1 (294) and Modern Titos-La Cabrera 294 ; AM “A” Forest Hills 2 with 317, Time Cargo Logistics 2 (315) and Team Masters (299).
