Abra is bullish on its tourism potential

Tourism in the province will show what the province truly is, Rep. JB Bernos said during the “Congress Night” of Abra “Kawayan Festival” on Friday.

Our priority remains, Bernos said, “to uplift the lives of brenians”. “We do everything so that families will have adequate sources of income,” he stressed.

Bernos sees the huge potential of tourism in his province as more of the Abra’s hidden wonders have been explored and discovered. He acknowledges that local tour guides as instrumental in promoting the province and showing how hospitable Abrenians are.

With the help of the tour guides and the Abra community, they were able to project the real Abra against what are being usually reported in the news about the province.

News of killings and other forms of violence especially during elections in the province occupy the headlines and airwaves. These have impressed the province’s image as a dangerous place.

“Abra is a land of thousand wonders, be its people or its natural sites,” the lawmaker said championing its “Abramazing” tag. He said that the province is being blessed with the people in the “Abramazing efforts”, beautiful sites and other natural wonders.

Bernos has filed a proposal before the House of Representatives that seek the declaration of Abra as one of the major tourism destinations, thereby enabling its protection and preservation. House Bill 2651 is now on the process of deliberation towards its approval, the lawmaker said, likely to be passed this year.

Such law is needed for the protection of Abra’s natural wonders, the Abra solon said, while explaining that “this to ensure a feasible environment and bright future of Abra’s children.”
