Abra mayor’s driver killed in ambush

BAGUIO CITY (November 25, 2021) – A driver of Pidigan town mayor Domino Joseph Valera was killed in an ambuscade Wednesday evening.
Christopher Frio Pasis, 46,  a driver of the town mayor’s food retail business, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital moments after he was shot several times by a still unidentified gunman at around 6:15 PM Wednesday in Barangay Monggoc, Pidigan, Abra.
Pasis, 46, from Monggoc, Pidigan, reportedly just came from a gasoline station in barangay Pangtud aboard his motorcycle without plate number and upon arriving at the sharp curve along the Abra- Ilocos Sur Road in the said barangay, a gunman suddenly appeared and began shooting at him.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital  in the capital town Bangued, but was declared dead by the physician in charge.
Pasis sustained gunshot wounds on his head and different parts his body.
Five spent shells of caliber 45 pistol were recovered from where Pasis was waylaid.
The Abra police remained blank as to the motive of the freshest gun-related killing in the province, while Mayor Valera has yet to release his statement on it.
