AFTER 65 YEARS, JCI’S TOYM AWARDS NITE IN BAGUIO CITY PUSHED SEARCH FOR THE 2024 OUTSTANDING YOUNG MEN (TOYM) TAKES CENTER STAGE

The Junior Chamber International Philippines  (JCI Phl)   search for the country’s   Top Outstanding Young Men (TOYM)  for this year is in fever  pitch. ‘I am thrilled to announce the commencement of the search for the 2024 TOYM of the Philippines, themed ‘Leading with Excellence, Serving with Purpose,’ states lawyer Mark Peter Quilaneta ,through JCI release.     In so doing, Alfredo ‘Jun’ Mondiguing Jr., JCI Senator and National Chairperson 2024 TOYM Awards, likewise echoed the search  over the weekend in a press conference  held at  Colione Cafe here.

‘For 65 years, the TOYM Phl has recognized and honored outstanding young Filipinos whose excellence in their fields and heart for serving our communities have significantly contributed to our nation,’ Mondiguing said. ‘As the search unfolds, let us honor the journey of every nominee and past honoree, knowing that each step taken brings us closer to discovering those have and will leave an indelible mark on our country’s history,’ Mondiguing stressed.

For the record, Baguio City -Summer Capital of the Philippines was the site of JCI’s 11th National Convention which TOYM was established on October 15,1959.  This prestigious award recognizes Filipinos ages between 18 and 40 for their significant contributions to their field or community. For this year award, with Royal Duty Free, Metro Pacific Investments as presenters, the nominee’s qualifications must be Filipino citizens ,including those born to Filipino parents in foreign countries between the ages of 18 to 40 by December (2024), among others.

Mondiguing said there are 11 categories — Humanitarian Service & Social Work; Arts & Culture; Pure Sciences & Mathematics; Engineering, Agriculture & Other Applied Sciences; Education; Medicine & Other Health Science & Services; Law; Public Service & Civic Work; Business & Economics; Sports; and Journalism & Mass Communications.

The JCI official explained that there are five steps in the  Nomination process to include JCI Phl local organization as the nominator of a nominee. He added the 2024 TOYM Calendar are as follows: Submission of Nominations -June 20 to Sept. 16 ; Screening, Judging, and Selection set Sept. 16 to October 31; and November -Presentation of Honorees, Gala Dinner and awarding.
