ALCALA, Pangasinan

Pangasinanenses, especially community folk in Alcala town will soon benefit from the 15th hospital to rise in that province. Three weeks after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) via a Provincial Resolution authorized Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico III to sign a deed of donation accepting a 4,000-square meter lot in Barangay Poblacion East in Alcala, construction of the newest addition to the medical
facilities in the province starts. The SP resolution cited that the “Municipality of Alcala, Pangasinan, represented by Mayor Jojo B. Callejo, purchased an unsegregated portion of 4,000 square meters from the 32,629 square meters parcel of land owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Urdaneta, Inc…”.

The property where the hospital will be built is now the registered property of the Municipality of Alcala. Guico III last year negotiated for the land donation in favor of Alcala. The Alcala Community Hospital has an initial funding of P200 million. Once completed, it will cater to the people not only from Alcala but also neighboring Sto. Tomas and Bautista towns. Meanwhile, the Pangasinan provincial government is also working on the accreditation of Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) in Bolingit, San Carlos City and upgrade it into a tertiary hospital. The construction of hospitals, upgrading of existing hospitals and medical facilities is part of the provincial government ‘s program in ensuring quality health care to the Pangasinenses.
