Another Man Dumped At Benguet Ravine

La Trinidad, Benguet (March 19, 2019) – Yet another dead man was found dumped in Benguet province Monday afternoon, less than a day after a known pickpocket was found in Tadiangan, Tuba, also in the province on Sunday.

Sonny Seguin dela Cruz, 42, from Puro 8, Green Valley, Dontogan barangay in Baguio City was discovered dumped at Pinalyok, Longlong, Puguis, this town at around 12:45PM Monday by Michael Bautista.

Bautista was reportedly having a joyride on his vehicle when he momentarily halted to urinate at the roadside where dela Cruz was dumped.

The cadaver was later identified by authorities whom Bautista alerted based on his UMID identification card.

Dela Cruz was brought to the Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes along Marcos Highway in Baguio City for an autopsy, as policemen have no definitive answers on what is the background of the victim.

On Sunday morning, a known pickpocket, who was earlier unidentified when found, was dumped also along the road in Tadiangan, Tuba.

Later identified by her wife, Joebert Pana Neri, 29, a resident of No. 92, Dr. Carino Street, Lower QM, Baguio City, was found sprawled dead near the National Housing Authority project, with two gunshot wounds on his left cheek and left jaw exiting on his right temple and right cheek.

Crime scene investigators also noted visible ligature marks on Neri’s neck and multiple abrasions on his stomach. While two empty shells of caliber 45 pistol and a slug for the same caliber were also found.

Residents earlier reported to policemen that a male person, approximately 20-30 years old, fair complexioned, about 5`4” tall and was wearing blue maong jeans, black t-shirt, black jacket and gray rubber shoes was found.

Neri later on was identified by his wife who told policemen that she last saw him on Saturday 11:00 AM at their store at No. 92 Dr. Cariño St., Baguio City when he left to buy cigarette.

Neri’s wife also told investigators that a certain “Dong”, whom his husband met when he was brought at the Baguio City District Jail on January 8-19, 2019, called and texted his husband for them to meet at Camp Allen, Baguio City.

But at about 6:00 PM Saturday, both the cellular phones of “Dong” and his husband can no longer be contracted.

The victim’s wife also bared to investigators that her husband is a known pickpocket at Block 4, Kayang St., in Baguio City and that he had been charged in court  twice, once in 2018 and another last January 2019.
