Aringay, La Union Seeks ECQ Status

BAGUIO CITY (April 5, 2021) –  The municipal government of Aringay, La Union is requesting the La Union Provincial InterAgency Task Force (PIATF) and Ilocos Regional IATF to place the whole municipality under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from April 7, 2021 until further notice.
As of Sunday afternoon (April 4, 2021), Aringay logged 58 new confirmed cases.  They were among the 87 individuals tested during the contact tracing of close contacts of the previous cases in the different parts of the municipality.
The local government unit through its municipal disaster risk reduction and management office announced that while awaiting for the approval of a total ECQ in the entire Aringay barangays Poblacion and San Antonio where cases are high will be under ECQ, while Barangays San Benito Norte and Dulao will be under Modified ECQ from April 5 until further notice.
The rest of the barangays of Aringay will still be under modified general community quarantine.  
The LGU also advised that only essential travels will be allowed in and out the municipality while all persons entering the municipality shall pass to the municipal triage.
The municipality also stated that it will only accept persons from the National Capital Region (NCR) plus the neighboring provinces of Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite and Rizal and all other high risk areas if they present RT-PCR negative test results.
As of 11:00 PM of April 4, 2021, the whole province of La Union registers 215 new cases and 1 Covid-related deaths. The province has also 172 active cases.
