ASEC. TABORA INDUCTS NEW BCBC OFFICERS; MAYOR BERNOS APPEALS

BAGUIO CITY

Presidential Adviser for Cordillera, Engr. Antonio ‘Tony Boy” Tabora has inducted the new set of officers of the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club (BCBC) and reminded the members of the media club to be always guided by the ethics of journalism. In doing so, Tabora exemplify Rotarian’s Four Way test: Is it the truth,Is it fair to all concerned. Will it build goodwill and better friendships, Will it be beneficial to all concerned.

Tabora, whose public service started as barangay chairman and climbed to become city councilor, recognized the vital role of the media in dishing out information in community as well as nation building. His role now as come backing public servant-Presidential Adviser for Cordillera is critical to the development of the region, pointing to the numerous projects being undertaken by the Marcos Administration, noting the lack of concern in previous administration. Importantly ,the region is closer to the Office of the President on matters affecting the people of the Cordillera.

As to the quest of regional autonomy which is embodied in the 1987 Constitution, Tabora echoed President Ferdinand ‘Bong Bong’ Marcos,Jr’s that the issue has “legal implications.” La Paz Mayor Joseph Sto.Nino Bernos, the guest speaker, congratulated the new officers even as he appealed to the group to help the Province of Abra forget the ‘violence” especially during the conduct of election. The local chief executive said “Such incidents affects Cordillera:”honestly hiyang-hiya kami.’

“We are all Cordillerans , who will help us but us Cordillerans.” “We are trying to erase. And based on available datas, the past five to six elections, Abra had no election related incidents.’ In fact, Mayor Bernos, personally assisted and gave support to their provincial athletes that competed in the just concluded CARAA.
