BAGUIO CITY DOMINATES 2023 CARAA MEET

Baguio City won the overall title in the just concluded 2023 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) marked by 211-119- 54 ( gold-silver-bronze) medaltally. Apayao maintained its second place finish by capturing 52 – 54- 86 (goldsilver-bronze) medal output
followed by Benguet with 37- 60-62 medal production. More than five thousand delegates to include sports officials from the different provinces -Abra, Apayao,, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga,
Mountain Province, Tabuk City and host Baguio City attended this school-based annual sports spectacle.

Eventual winners of the three-day sports meet will be representing in the forthcoming Palarong Pambansa on July 29- August 5 (2023) to be held in Marikina City. During the opening program, Dr. Francis Cesar B. Bringas , Assistant Secretary for Operations of the Department of Education
(DepEd), and Secretary General of Palarong Pambansa said “In competitions like CARAAonly two things may happen, either you win or you learn.” “So for those of you who are very particular about
looking at your tally, ‘W and L’. The next time you look at it.

Look at it this way, W stands for win, L stands for lesson because for every time that you don’t win as you desire, there are always lessons that come within “ It took three years for the DepEd to conduct the meet due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
