Baguio lawmaker hit by COVID-19

BAGUIO CITY (January 10, 2021)— Baguio City representative Marquez Go announced on Monday that he and his wife have tested positive of the COVID-19 virus.
Go and his wife Soledad thus appealed to people who have direct and close contact with them for the past few days to undergo self-quarantine, monitor themselves, and get tested when symptoms arise.
“Contract tracing efforts are also being conducted by our city,” the lawmaker said.
He however assured that he and his wife are only with mild symptoms.  “And I’m confident through God’s grace that we will recover quickly,”.
Go said that he and his staff will continue to be on top of their work in Congress and in their district office despite this challenge.
“I am quite in disbelief and I’m sure many families are experiencing the same disheartenment once the virus hits their homes, but this is the nature of COVID-19, which is why I appeal to everyone not to let your guards down,” the congressman added. He strongly encourages everyone to keep themselves healthy, follow safety protocols, and get their vaccinations to reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization.
