Baguio Nurse Found With COVID 19

BAGUIO CITY (April 15, 2020) – A thirty-three year old male nurse at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) was found positive from COVID19.
The patient, who lives along Giant Sequioa street in Woodsgate Subdivision in Camp 7 barangay is the city’s 17th confirmed case, Mayor Benjamin Magalong said.  He is now confined at the BGHMC.
Contact tracing has begun and the city has mobilized disinfection operations.
BGHMC Medical Officer Dr. Ricardo Ruñez Jr. said the hospital has started to implement precautionary measures to ensure the safety of other patients and their personnel.  “Contact tracing within (hospital) has started.  There will be scaled down operations for today (Wednesday) but essential services will continue,” Ruñez explained.
Just yesterday, a 77-year old male stroke patient from Maria Basa St. in Pacdal barangay was also diagnosed with the disease.
The patient’s wife informed that her husband never left home since the declaration of the ECQ but received regular visits from her nephew who works in Thailand before leaving the country on March 14.
The wife, considered as a close contact, was also included in the surveillance where she claimed to have undergone a check-up for her cough on April 2 and attended a cooperative meeting in T. Alonzo on April 11.
With these,  Magalong placed barangays Pacdal and T. Alonzo on a lockdown.
