The Snake, the Crab and the Pig

Did you play Snake and Ladders when you were a kid? Well I did.
But do you know the story behind it and the lesson you get to learn from this game? If you are interested to know then I will gladly narrate it.

Once there was a group of friends that wished to reach a certain goal in life. Of course by reaching their dreams they do not see each other so often for they are busy making their lives better. Along the way, there were trials in which they keep on moving forward then
backward and then move forward again. Others felt frustrated, down and not willing to take a risk again.

There are so many obstacle and struggles along the way but in some part, they get to meet and encourage one another that no matter what, they shall never give up for there is no going back but to move forward and strive harder in life to reach their dreams. Just like what the saying said: Try and try until we succeed.

Here comes the story of the crab. Crab actually walks slow but surely. There was once a Crab that wants to get out of its comfort zone and see the world outside the River. This Crab heard of the big opportunity in going to the Ocean. And so one day, after this Crab researched and gathered all the things needed to know about the
Big Sea, as they call it, this Crab decided to go start its journey.

Along the way, this Crab gets to meet a lot of crabs that give discouragement and encouragement but they all tag along with the Crab joining him in the Big Sea. But what the Crab does not know
once it reaches its dream, the crabs alongside him are the same ones to put him down, for he does not know that these crabs he met along the way has been long living in the Big Sea and they already have a big role/position on it which they are all scared of losing to this
new Crab’s wittiness, cleverness and skills.

And so what they all did was they just kept him on bay and let him stay there for a very long time.

This is what they call today as Crab Mentality.

Now let us go to the sample story of a Pig. There was once a known company with its big boss having a foundation schooling the out of school youth. Once they have graduated, each and every one of them does not have a choice but to give back what the company gave to them and so in short they work at the company without overtime pay and the company is digging out ideas from them without recognition. In short, they work for the big boss company to make it bigger.

This is the Pig Mentality.

Which one can you relate with?
