BARANGAY WORKERS IN ALL OF PANGASINAN TO GET P2K EACH

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Pangasinan has mandated the provincial government to hand out P2,000 each to all barangay workers all over the province. SP member Vici Ventanilla, principal sponsor of the SP resolution 3024, said the grant is for all Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Child Development Workers, and Barangay Service Point Officers or Barangay Population Workers in Pangasinan.

The funding will be sourced from the supplemental budget of the province, explained Ventanilla. Village chiefs from all the barangays of the province will submit the list of the Barangay workers to the SP and their respective municipal
governments and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices, the SP member explained to guarantee
transparency and accountability. Ventanilla however clarified that those who are holding two functions in their barangays will not be granted double, citing as an example, a Barangay health worker who is also doing another task on the Barangay.

“He/She  has  to make his preference on what task he/she be given the grant.” Pangasinan Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino encouraged all SP members to join Governor Ramon Guico III during the distribution of the grant to the Barangay workers on a scheduled date. Meanwhile, the SP is also seeking the need for the province’s Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) to undergo training from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority
(TESDA) and get NC-II to capacitate them more.
