BCHNS students top art competition

BAGUIO CITY – Janelle Pidazo and Carevie Lene Datu, both students of Baguio City High National High School (BCNHS), capped the recent art competition organized by Soroptomist International-Baguio Pines Chapter and supported by John Hay Management Corp.
The elevent grader Pidazo, captured the first place honor while Datu, finished third spot. Pidazo’s art work depicted women’s dream of gender equality while Datu’s skill, showed the development and preservation of Baguio City and its rich culture.
Ezra Daguioan, Grade 10 student of Alejo M. Pacalso, Memorial National High School, placed second. Her art piece depicted the restoration of Baguio as a tourist attraction.
Twenty-three individuals representing different schools and barangays in the city and in Benguet participated in the art competition held at the quiet and green fields of Camp John Hay.
The art competition has a theme of “The Baguio We Want” and “Women Empowerment” which highlighted the celebration of International Women’s Month. Participants used acrylic and oil pastel, which was provided by the Soroptomist International-Baguio which is headed by Chato Dulay.
