BAGUIO CITY
As the holiday season approaches, the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) is all set for a festive duty, ensuring the safety and security of thousands expected to gather for the much-anticipated
Countdown to Christmas Tree Lighting & Fireworks Display and Lantern Parade on December 1, 2023. To manage the influx of spectators, BCPO-City Operation and Management Unit (COMU) is set to deploy 263 police officers strategically.
Their primary task is to monitor the crowd and maintain a secure environment, providing reassurance to attendees and deterring potential disruptions. Recognizing the importance of traffic control, the BCPO Traffic Enforcers Unit (TEU) Traffic Beatmen will be strategically positioned to
manage the flow of vehicles. A well-organized traffic plan, including temporary road closures, detours, and increased police presence, will be implemented to ensure a smooth and congestion-free event.
In a conference held earlier, Col.Francisco Bulwayan, Jr., city director, highlighted the BCPO’s commitment and designated routes to ensure the safety of residents and visitors during the holiday festivities. “We have devised a comprehensive security plan to address various aspects of crowd control, traffic management, and emergency response. We advise attendees to arrive early, carpool when possible, and be aware of alternative transportation options. Your cooperation will play a pivotal role in ensuring a joyous and secure kickoff to the festive season in Baguio City,” he stated.
