BENGUET BOARD ASK FOR FASHION SHOW ON ADIVAY FESTIVAL

Benguet Sangguniang Panlalawigan Marie Rose Fongwan-Kepes recently propose for the conduct of a fashion show during the Adivay Festival this coming November this year. This was part of the
discussion during the consultation meeting called by Fongwan-Kepes, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Trade, Industry and Livelihood, last August 25, 2023.
Fongwan-Kepes stressed that there is a need to develop and market the weaving industry of the Province of Benguet which is part of the culture and tradition of the province.

In line with this, FongwanKepes proposes to conduct a fashion show during the Foundation Anniversary of the Province of Benguet this coming November to promote and feature native textiles and woven products of the Province and at the same time recognize the craftsmanship and skills of our local weavers and designers. The activity’s theme will be “Benguet Fusion Fashion,”
which aims to incorporate the rich heritage of traditional Benguet textiles with modern clothing. The fashion show will include street wear, casual and formal wear.
