‘Benguet infrastructures benefitting farmers, youth done on target’

La Trinidad, Benguet (July 16, 2021)— Benguet legislative caretaker Eric Go Yap is confident that two infrastructure projects that will benefit farmers, sports enthusiasts and the youth are right on target and nearing completion.
Yap, also House Appropriations committee chairman said, the P200 million Kibungan-Bakun Road once completed will reduce the travel time of the people of Kibungan and Bakun which for decades have been traversed by walking for 18 hours. He said that four kilometers are already nearing full completion.
Yap though begs that the road project needs additional P200 million funding so that it will be fully opened and ensure its good quality.
The Benguet lawmaker, who had been championing grassroots sports development,  also noted that soil compacting works is being undertaken at the Benguet Provincial Sports Complex at Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet. This is needed, he explained, before laying the rubberized track to ensure the durability of the ground. “Kasi sayang lang kung malambot ang lupa ay masisira din ang ilalagay,” he explained.
At least P165 million is allotted for the oval while another P25 million for the gym that will be furnished with wooden court and other quality materials.
Yap showed confidence that with the supervision of the public works department,  the sports complex project will be finished in  the early months of 2022, if not this year.
