BENGUET VICE GOV. FELIPE ON CARAA 2025, GOVERNANCE

Benguet Vice Governor Ericson L. Felipe, presiding officer of the Province Sangguniang Panlalawigan reports on the accomplishments of the body. Felipe also expresses warm welcome to the athletes and officials from the different provinces and cities for the CARAA 2025. Likewise he extends his gratitude to local government units, DepEd-CAR , other government agencies, private groups parents, volunteers. and all who in one way demonstrated their assistance and support in staging this annual school-based sports meet.

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet

Benguet is fully prepared for the upcoming Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) meet, ensuring that players have proper quarters, security, and transportation. Vice Governor Ericson L. Felipe, presiding officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP)assured that necessary provisions such as water, medical needs, and other essential supplies are in place. “On the part of SP, , we are just here on standby if there is a need for additional funding so that we could give the proper support.”

Legislative Leadership
Felipe, who is seeking for a Representative seat in the Line District of Benguet, takes pride in fostering unity within
the SP despite political differences. In 2024, through his leadership, 10 provincial ordinances were approved, 16 budget and appropriation ordinances were passed, and 663 resolutions were given a nod. “Upon assuming office as an independent, he faced challenges coordinating with board members who were largely from other parties.

Through relationship-building, he established a cohesive working body. Over the years, they bonded and worked together, allowing the provincial board to function smoothly and effectively. The Vice Governor noted that the board has consistently approved the provincial budget on time with minimal debate. Their approach has been one of trust and cooperation with the provincial governor. Key legislative reforms, such as amendments to the tax and tourism codes, were successfully implemented.
