BM Ortega takes oath as the new ex-officio member of LU SP

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION – The newly elected Liga ng mga Barangay President – La Union Chapter, Hon. Geraldine “Denny” R. Ortega was inducted into office as the ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) during the 109th Regular Session of the SP on August 2, 2018 held at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Provincial Legislative Building and Session Hall, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Provincial and Municipal officials; La Union Vibrant Women (LUVWI) Inc. Board of Directors, officers and members; PGLU Department Heads; Barangay Officials of Canaoay, City of San Fernando and BM Ortega’s family and friends were present to witness the oath- taking ceremony.
Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R .Ortega III who administered the oath-taking, said in his message that his life is strongly founded on his father’s decision to choose peace and love to build their family and career with their mother which was the anchor of his values of love, duty, honor and loyalty. He said that it was his mother’s quiet demeanor that encouraged and validated his resolve to honor his life’s big decisions.
“I am very happy that God has made it happen for you to find your voice and conviction to serve his people.  I ‘m very proud to everything you have achieved, I am your dutiful son, I honor my father by being a transformative Governor and serve the province with love because you gave me your unconditional support and love, “ Gov. Pacoy said.
Gov. Pacoy urged BM Deny to move forward and work harmoniously in the SP to sustain the gains that the province has achieved as they will strongly pursue true and meaningful development representation in the legislative department.
In closing, he congratulated the SP for being the upholder of sectoral development representation and the stronghold of legislative maturity and encouraged them to work together and strive to achieve the province’s strategy for local economic development for the good of the people of La Union and for the greater glory of God’s name.
The SP welcomed BM Ortega through a video presentation of her workings and achievements as a volunteer leader and religious servant. After which, she delivered her speech, where she mentioned that her new career is God’s calling to serve the people of La Union for their general welfare. She thanked all the people who have supported and believed in her especially her husband Former Governor Manoling C. Ortega and her seven children. She also said that public service is not new to her being the Chairperson of LUVWI, she has worked harmoniously with both the private and public sector to address the needs, sentiments and concerns of the people and hopes to translate the same in policy-making in the SP.
BM Ortega committed to the Vice Governor and the members of the SP to do her duties and responsibilities conscientiously.  She also urged them to work together, understand and appreciate each other to support the programs of Gov.
