CAMP JOHN HAY TEAMS RETAIN SENIORS FLIGHT “A” TITLES

Camp John Hay Golf Club Teams will have an early Christmas party after retaining the seniors  FIL and AM Flight ‘A’ crowns. respectively  on Tuesday in the 74th Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational here. John Hay 1 posted an aggregate 4-day total of 409  (89-82-121-117) for the seniors FIL ‘’A’ title while its sister team John Hay 2 submitted a final score of 393 (119-102-86-86) for the  AM ‘’A’ plum. Noel Beleran anchored John Hay 1 final day round with three-over for 33 points at home (Camp John Hay) course . He was supported by Hur Yun  29, Villamor ‘’Bummi’ Bumanglag 28 and  Dai Tsuchiya 27. While John Marasigan carded 29 to lift John Hay 2 final round.

He was supported by Bonifacio “Bonnie” de Castro 25, Clyde Cabreros 20 and Charles Baguilat 12. Mamala Bay settled for second place in FIL A with 397 (91-92-106-110) while Moto finished third with 369 (80-79-109-101). Top finishers in AM ‘’A’ – The Young Ones  placed second  with 356 (91-96-89-82) and Bibak NY/NJ/ Igolfers  USA 340 (94-90-88-70). In the Championship flights ,Manila Southwoods team 1 and 2   took control both the FIL and AM groups, respectively.  Southwoods 1 tallied  329 points (97-105)  including its big 127 points in the third round, protecting a two-point lead over   erstwhile leader and defending champion Luisita CG which scored 121 en route to  327 including its 102-104 earlier rounds  , going into Wednesday fourth and final round.

Shotmakers Manfred Guangko and Raul ‘’Roroy’ Minoza  both scored 33s and lifted Southwoods’ 1 attacked at Camp John Hay course. Also scoring for the team are Nestor Plan, Jr with 32 and Theodore ‘’Theody’ Pascual 28. Riviera Golf in third with 320 (96-95-129).   Southwoods CG 2  held its ground at the Baguio Country Club layout, submitted  a three-round score of 327 including its 100 points on Tuesday  and padded a  seven-point lead over second running Srixon IMG with 320  points (118-108-94). Scoring for Southwoods’ 2 are Ramon ‘Thirdy’ Escano and Joseph Tambunting who combined 53 points.

Ryan Abdon had 25 and Ramon Luis Garcia 22. Green Water Seniors in third spot with 307 (112-112-83) in the tournament in the tournament  with Januarius Holdings, Inc. as the title sponsor and  supported by A Brown, Eastridge, and Toyota as event presenter while Alveo, Tipsy Pig, Aquatico, Moto Lubricant, Master Siomai, Robinsons Land, and Britanny as backers.  Other top finishers :FIL ‘’E’ CaliPhil 236 (52-42-69-73), Alpha Omega Golfers Club- Team Alpha 228 (43-54-65-66) , Korea Morning Calm  226 (48-51-63-64) ; AM ‘’E’ Sandigan Golfers 2 210 (58-55-45-52), Fil-Am Oahu Golf Club 2 200 (49-40-56-55) and Green Canyon 196.  Meanwhile , Nueva Ecija Travellers  won  the regular  FIL F flight , scored 329 followed by TIEZA Club Intramuros GC 1 296 and  Team Banh-Mi 294. Team Foretee topped AM ‘’F’ regular with  285, City of Pines 262  and     TIEZA Club Intramuros GC 2  262  and PeekUp PH 255.
