CAR death toll due to typhoon Maring rise to 6

BAGUIO CITY (October 12, 2021)—  Death toll due to typhoon Maring (Kompasu) in the highland Cordillera region has risen to 6.
All landslide-related,  3 children were dug out from a landslide that buried their family’s home in Ambiong, La Trinidad, Benguet Tuesday morning.
Another villager in Tuding, Itogon, Benguet was also reported buried alive only to be located later dead while another in Ampucao and one more in Tuding, both in Itogon, Benguet also fell victims of rain-soaked mountain soil that gave way.
A grandfather was dug out dead Tuesday morning from the rubble of a landslide-hit house with his grand children Monday night in Dominican Mirador barangay in Baguio City.
Disaster officials in the highland region also reported three residents hurt in Buguias, Benguet; Tuding, Itogon, also in Benguet and A grandmother Dominican Mirador, in Baguio City.
As of Tuesday afternoon, rescuers are racing against time in manually sifting through wet soil, mud and debris of the landslide-hit house looking for two children buried alive Monday night during the height of the storm in Dominican Mirador, here.
