CGFI ROLLS OUT 2024 CHARITY MISSION

The Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. (CGFI) has rolled out anew its charity mission for 2024 by donating on Thursday the much-needed medical equipment and wheelchairs to 10 rural health units in Abra province. The CGFI led by its president Arnel Peil and other officials formally turned over 10 wheelchairs, blood pressure apparatus, nebulizers, and digital scales, among other equipment through the Abra Medical Society led by its president Dr. Anthea Marie Gabaoen of Luba RHU. Also present to receive the donations of RHU heads Glycoric Cortes of Bangued, Haily Apelo of Daguioman, Jossa Therese Valera of Langiden, Dexter Apolonio of Manabo, Susan Peralta of Pidigan, Ethel Jaquias of Pilar, Agnes Bueno of San Quintin and Jordan Donga-as of Tubo.

Gabaoen thanked CGFI for selecting the 10 RHUs of Abra as among the beneficiaries of its charity mission this year,
saying the donated equipment will benefit countless patients, especially those from the highland towns. Aside from Abra, CGFI will also travel to the provinces of Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province, including
the cities of Baguio and Tabuk to donate medical equipment and fund the upgrade of some health centers. Peil, for his part, said the CGFI will continue to reach out to people in need in the region, as he thanked Judge Hilario
Belmes of the Benguet Regional Trial Court Branch 78, for linking the group to the Abra Medical Society.

The CGFI executive committee has decided to allocate millions worth of assistance to help improve the health services in the countryside of this highland region. The 2nd CGFI Invitational Golf Tournament held at Camp John Hay Golf Club, Baguio Country Club, and Pinewoods Golf & Country Club on April 1 to 6 drew 86 teams from all over
the country and the Asia Pacific region. To recall, the maiden CGFI Invitational Golf Tournament has delivered P2.5 million worth of assistance to all eight schools divisions of the Department of Education Cordillera. The CGFI has helped in the construction of school buildings in the provinces of Benguet, Mountain Province and Ifugao while it also donated dental chairs to the most populated secondary public schools in Baguio City. It also delivered high-end
laptops and tablets in Kalinga, and Abra while schools in Apayao received Starlink devices.
