CITY COUNCIL GRANTS FAVORABLE REVIEWS ON SEVERAL BARANGAY BUDGET TAX MEASURES

Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed city council resolution no. 570, series of 2022, granting favorable review of the budgets of Harrison- Carantes-Claudio, Lower Lourdes Subdivision and
Bakakeng Central barangays for fiscal years 2022 and 2023. The City Budget Officer forwarded the preliminary reviewed barangay budgets to the local legislature.

The august body’s committee on barangay affairs, in its 2nd indorsement dated November 21, 2022, recommended favorable review of the mentioned barangay budgets. The approved measure
stated that the budgets be returned to the City Budget Officer for implementation. Meanwhile, city council resolution nos. 551 and 552, both series of 2022, granting favorable review of tax
ordinance no. 01, series of 2022, of Guisad Surong barangay and tax ordinance no. 2022-01 of Trancoville barangay, respectively.

The city council’s committee on barangays affairs, in its 2nd indorsement dated November 10, 2022, recommended favorable review on the Guisad Surong barangay tax ordinance considering that its enactment passed the formal and substantial requirement of an ordinance. The same committee, in its 3rd indorsement dated November 15, 2022, recommended favorable review on the Trancoville barangay tax ordinance considering that its enactment passed the formal and substantial requirement of an ordinance.

Further, the recommendations of the committee when it was previously returned were duly incorporated and considered. The granting of favorable review of the said barangay tax ordinances is pursuant to provisions of the Local Government Code of 1991.
