City lauds PCCI-BCCI for capping ‘Most Outstanding Chamber’ award

Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed city council resolution no. 367, series of 2021, commending the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Baguio-Benguet Chapter, Inc. (PCCI-BBCI) for garnering the ‘Most Outstanding Chamber in North Luzon Award (City-Based Level 1)” in 2020 given by the PCCI National Organization.
The Chamber was awarded for being a participant in the economic development of the Summer Capital and other areas. An accredited non-government organization in the city, PCCI-BBCCI has established sisterhood relationships with several cities in foreign countries like South Korea, Canada, the United States and locally, with the Bulacan Chamber of Commerce that led to an economic trade exchange.
The measure states that in September 5, 2020, it hosted the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines in promoting their program, ‘Trade to Canada: A World of Opportunities” that furthered trade relations and investment opportunities.
The PCCI-BBCI continues to be a partner in fighting the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic through its volunteerism and generosity in giving and was given a city council resolution of gratitude and recognition for its efforts.
The Chamber is an active member of various committees and councils in the advancement of the city’s development as co-chair of the City Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Council; private sector representative to the Regional Development Council; member of the City Development Council; among others.
It participated in tree planting activities and other environmental protection programs of the city; conducted gift giving to children, persons with disabilities, victims of calamities and those from poor communities.
The PCCI-BBCI also facilitates TESDA training scholarships especially those that leads to gainful employment and helps minimize unemployment in the city.
