City vet conducts 7 days animal rabies vaccination in celebration for world rabies day

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Pet lovers participates on the free rabies vaccination activity by the city government of San Fernando through the City Veterinary office that being conducted for 7-days to 7 barangays which most reported stray dogs in the city.
According to City Veterinary Officer Dr. Flosie Decena, who identified the seven barangays Madayegdeg, Lingsat, Carlatan, Catbangan, Cabaroan, Pagdalagan, and Lancuas.
Decena stressed that these barangays are mostly reported stray dogs and most of the time they are being attack from night fall, though there is none reported victims of rabies here as of this month.
It was listed about 945 dogs and cats that are being vaccinated from the starts of activity on September 17 which was first held in Madayegdeg, previously September 18, 22, and 24 in barangays Lingsat, Carlatan, and Catbangen respectively.
On September 25, 28, 29 to be held at barangays Cabaraoan, Pagdalagan, and Lancuas respectively.
The activity was in-line for the 14th World Rabies Day dubbed “End Rabies: Collaborate, Vaccinate”.
Aside from vaccination, these pets are also given deworming and vitamins which sponsored by partnership from private veterinary clinics.
