‘Congressman Yap Free From Any Illness’

BAGUIO CITY  – After several hours at the Benguet General Hospital, Rep. Eric Go Yap was discharged after tests showed him free from any illness.
Blaming fatigue and stress, Yap confirmed he underwent several tests the whole day Saturday at the BeGH and turned out cleared from any serious illness.
The lawmaker was still talking about issues about Benguet still while being rushed to the hospital at around 4AM, Yap’s Chief of Staff Kevin See said.
Yap, one of the three representatives of the ACT-CIS party list and House Appropriations Committee chairman, finished a meeting at around 3AM Saturday and was inside his room when She heard a thug prompting him to rush to the lawmaker’s room and discovered him being massaged on the legs by his brother.
The lawmaker, who was appointed by House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano after the passing of Benguet congressman Nestor Fongwan Jr. last December, arrived in Benguet Thursday afternoon and met with Benguet town mayors at the BeGH to appraise them on his efforts to ease problems in Benguet especially with the COVID19 pandemic.
After the meeting in Benguet, Yap went on to meet with education officials in Benguet.
“Naging malaking factor ng biglaang paghina ng aking katawan ang fatigue, stress at pati na rin ng pabago bagong panahon dito sa Benguet,” Rep. Yap said.
Yap, whose proposal to return BeGH’s administration to the national government, was already approved on third and final reading at the House.  “We target BeGH to be back to the national government’s administration by 2021,” the lawmaker told journalists Thursday afternoon.
When renationalized, the BeGH 200 bed capacity will be increased to 400 beds.
BeGH will soon also have its own COVID19 laboratory upon the personal effort of Yap as a PCR machine and extraction machine have already been available two weeks ago though the two machines have been loaned momentarily to the Baguio General Hospital while there is no BeGH laboratory yet.
When renationalized,  BeGH will have enough funds for upgrading of its medical facilities and equipment,  Yap stressed, adding, even benefits of employees at the hospital will improve.  “Ang bunga nito, mas tataas ang kalidad ng serbisyo ng Benguet General Hospital upang mas marami ang matulungan.”
See further added that Rep. Yap had just a few hours of sleep attending to the House’s session and other issues from Monday-Wednesday and travelled again to Benguet Thursday morning to meet with various sectors.
