The lawmaker pointed out that he wants to contribute in his own little way for the growth and development of the province even as a legislative caretaker because he wants that development should be cascaded to the countryside and for people to reap the fruits of development.
Congressman Yap asserted that he already embraced the culture of Benguet in hi short stint as the province’s legislative caretaker that is why he is doing his best to make the necessary representations with concerned government agencies so that the priority development projects in the different parts of the province will be funded and properly implemented for the benefit of the present and future generations of inhabitants.
According to him, residents and officials of the province should be united in their efforts to clamor for more development projects from the national government and that appropriate action from the concerned offices could be realized if there is synergy in their actions to show to the present administration the urgent need for the implementation of pending development projects as they will serve as part of the drivers of the local economy.
Earlier, Yap had been frequenting remote villages in the province to interact with municipal and barangay officials and the people to elicit from them their issues and concerns so that he will be able to make the appropriate representations with the concerned government agencies the necessary actions that should be undertaken to facilitate the cascading of government programs and projects in the countryside when the House of Representatives start the deliberations for the annual budget of the national government amounting to P4.5 trillion.
He stated that he will maximize the opportunity given to him as the chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations to convince government agencies to fund the proposed development projects that had been submitted by the provincial government so that there will be noticeable development interventions in the remote villages that will pave the way for increased economic activities to create jobs and provide added sources of livelihood for the people.
