BAGUIO CITY(August 11, 2021)— Operatives from the 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Benguet police uprooted and burned 400 fully grown marijuana plants Tuesday afternoon in Sitio Botobot, Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.
Cordillera police director Brigadier General Ronald Oliver Lee said policemen were conducting a regular patrol when they discovered the 50-square meter marijuana plantation at a communal forest in the mountainous area in Barangay Kayapa.
The weed destroyed were estimated to be reach P80,000.00.
Investigation is ongoing to identify the cultivators of the marijuana plants.
Meanwhile, two drug personalities were arrested in separate drug operations launched by Cordillera policemen in Benguet on Monday.
Dodjie Bang-asan Villanueva alias “Ogie”, considered a High Value Individual (HVI), 38, was caught in a sting operation in Barangay Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet, after selling a sachet of suspected shabu weighing .30 grams with Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P2,040.00 to an undercover operative.
Also, Benjamin Bandarlipe Gallardo, a Street Level Individual (SLI), 42, was also caught by Benguet policemen in Buyacaoan, Buguias. He sold a sachet of shabu weighting 0.26 gram priced at P1,768.00 to an operative.
In Baguio City, Baguio policemen with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cordillera arrested a street level individual in Barangay Irisan, Baguio City also on Monday.
Bobby Fontanilla Cayabyab, another Street Level Individual (SLI), 48 and a resident of San Luis, Baguio City was taken after selling a sachet of shabu weighing 0.4 gram worth P2,720.00 to an operative.
In the course of the arrest, policemen seizes another one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu weighing 0.3 gram worth P2,040.00.
