CSC recognizes Cordillera’s outstanding public servants

BAGUIO CITY – The  Civil Service Commission (CSC) led  the  honoring of  Cordillera Region’s  outstanding public servants during 2018 Honors and Awards Program dubbed as “Parangal para sa mga Katangi – tanging Lingkod Bayani ng Kordilyera” at Hotel Elizabeth here  on Thursday, September 13. 
For the CSC PAGASA Award, regional awardees for the individual category are former Department of Public Works and Highways –Cordillera Regional Director Nerie Bueno; Principal II Myrna Balanay of Department of Education, Ifugao and Farm Superintendent Rowena Gonnay of the local government unit of Pasil, Kalinga.
For the group category, winners are the DPWH – CAR Planning and Design Group, Lamut Central School in Ifugao, and Baguio City National High School.
For the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, regional  individual awardees  are  Assistant  Regional Director  Mary Bacwaden  of  the Commission on Audit-Cordillera,  former Baguio Fire Marshall Joe Fernand Bangyod,  Mayor Mariano Buyagawan Jr. of  Lamut, Ifugao; Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center(BGHMC)  Medical Specialist IV Brigida Claro (Posthumous); San Ubaldo Esteban of  Bureau  of Fire Protection, Kalinga; Clint Gil Ildefonso,  Sr. program Officer  of DOH – CAR and Baguio City Police Director Ramil Saculles.
For the Lingkod Bayan group category, awardees are the Special Audit Team of COA – CAR, DepEd Division of Baguio and the Baguio City Fire Station.
For Dangal ng Bayan Award, awardees are BGHMC Medical Equipment Technician Benjamin Amisola, Jail Warden Bartolome Tresmanio of  BJMP Buguias, Benguet District,  and Teacher III Laureen Luneg of DepEd Ifugao Division.
CSC – CAR Regional Director Marilyn Taldo and Asst. Regional Director Cornelia Rillera with Baguio City Congressman Mark Go led the awarding of recognition to the region’s outstanding civil servants.
CSC’s PAGASA and Presidential Lingkod Bayan Awards are in recognition of outstanding performance – PAGASA for those whose contributions have significant impact on public interest, security and patrimony, while Lingkodbayan are for those whose contributions directly benefitted more than one department of the government.
CSC’s Dangal ng Bayan Award is given to public servant that showcases performance of an extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior.
Baguio City Congressman Mark Go, in his message, expressed his congratulations to the awardees in behalf of the people whom they have selflessly served.  At the same time, he called for their continuing commitment in putting public service first as clean and efficient public service is the backbone of any society.
CSC Commissioner Alicia Dela Rosa Bala, in a message read by CSC–CAR Regional Director Marilyn Taldo, stressed that doing their mandate to give recognition to the hard work, outstanding performance and inspirational sacrifice of civil servant heroes, has always been a privilege for the Commission as it continuously proves that the Philippine government is filled with men and women who are experts in their fields, working as leaders and workers to uphold public service excellence.
