DOH ENCOURAGES PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN ILOCOS REGION TO ENTER INTO MOA FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

ILOCOS REGION

Department of Health – Ilocos Region Assistant Regional Director Rodolfo Alberto M. Albornoz told private hospitals to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the regional office to ensure
service delivery network and address health inequities through accessible healthcare without disparity during the launching of the Northern Luzon Adventist Hospital’s (NLAH) ‘Healthy Pangasinan Campaign’ held at the in Sison, Pangasinan on February 13, 2023.

“I am confident that NLAH will be part of the Province of Pangasinan’s Health Care Provider Network (HCPN) after will continue to cater patients needing medical care and treatment to and from the community in the Municipality of Sison and other nearby municipalities.” “A public-private partnership will contribute greatly to a more improve service delivery network and
help address health inequities by providing more access to healthcare and reducing the financial burden of out-of-pocket expenses by patients,” he explained.

Albornoz added that partnership with private hospitals will also ensure the effective and efficient
implementation and strengthening of the service delivery network through strategies and activities that would address the prevailing burden of various diseases in the province of Pangasinan.   “Dahil tayo ay may Universal Health Care (UHC) na batas, lahat dapat ng sector ng kalusugan ay makasama na upang mabigyan ng tamang access ang lahat ng Filipino sa de-kalidad at abot-kayang
serbisyong pangkalusugan nang walang dapat ipangamba sa gastusin, mapa pribado man o pampublikong hospital.”

“Ang pagpapagamot ay karapatan ng isang pasyente at karapatan din nyang mamili kung saan sya
magpapagamot. And as health care provider it is our duty to provide care and treatment to those seeking medical treatment and through the UHC, they can avail of the medical assistance they need,” he added. The Northern Luzon Adventist Hospital is a level 1 hospital in District V of
Pangasinan and has been serving for 13 years, it is the biggest private hospital in the town of Sison, Pangasinan.

NLAH has shown commitment to be more engaged and committed to the advocacies and programs of the Department of Health as they are among the few private hospitals who attended and actively participated in the technical assistance and orientation in the creation of Public Health Units (PHUs) in  all hospitals in the region conducted by the DOH Regional Office last November 2022.
