LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Nov.19 (PIA) – – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the region held a caravan advocating their programs, projects and services to the provincial government and creating a venue to showcase their accomplishments together with their partners in the government and the civil society organizations(CSOs).
The DSWD convergence caravan was attended by various stakeholders from local government units in the province including Baguio City and the national government agencies and CSOs.
DSWD-CAR Assistant Regional Director for Operations Amelyn Cabrera expressed hope that the event has become an avenue for their partners to be enlightened with some issues and concerns and be able to appreciate the agency’s various programs and services including the financial assistance extended.
Cabrera assured that the glitches and problems in the course of the project or program implementation were brought to the attention of the top management guided by directives which need to be adhered to.
S t a k e h o l d e r s’ recommendations were also considered for the information of DSWD Central Office for possible incorporation to existing policy directives to improve or strengthen project implementation.
The DSWD-CAR programs and services which catered qualified recipients to the province and the city of Baguio were supplementary feeding, social pension program, centenarian program and issuance of clearance to minors traveling abroad.
The agency also extended assistance to individuals in crisis situation, trafficked persons through its recovery and reintegration program, unconditional cash transfer for qualified beneficiaries, disaster victims and survivors providing immediate relief and recovery through its disaster response program.
“The accomplishment of the agency is also your accomplishments,” Cabrera said underscoring the support of its partners.
(In all the DSWD’s undertakings, it seems like all the partners held on with the primary aim to help recipients at the provincial and municipal level. No one left us and we hope that our journey together will continue as we take our ride to the DSWD bus helping each other.
