LOOK: The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera on Wednesday said that thru the KALAHI CIDSS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay) program of the agency, the amount of P174 million has been allotted for the 303 barangays in all the 27 towns of Abra under the cash-for-work program.
Amelyn Cabrera, assistant regional director for operations of the DSWD-CAR on Wednesday on the sidelines of the KALAHI-CIDSS partnership forum in Bangued, Abra said that with the finalization of the memorandum of agreement with eight municipalities of Abra, a go signal for the initial P65 million is ready to be released.
“There is no uniform number of workers for each barangay but each of the food-for-work beneficiary will receive P380 daily wage for a maximum of 90 days.” She added this is a short term intervention to help the Abrenos who are financially hard up.
