DTI, DOLE continue to roll Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan caravan

BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Trade (DTI) and Industry and Department of Labor and Employment(DOLE) in Cordillera conducted the diskwento caravan, job and business fair as part of the Trabaho Negosyo at Kabuhayan (TNK) at Porta Vaga’s roofdeck and parking area last June 10 to 12, 2017.
Regional Director of DTI-CAR Myrna Pablo together with DOLE-CAR Assistant Regional Director Teddy Delson and Porta Vaga Manager Ronald Ceballos officially opened the fair with the theme “Kalayaan 2017: pagbabagong sama-samang balikatin.”
The job and business fair was conducted nationwide in commemoration of the 119th anniversary of Philippine Independence Day. Pablo said this is the 2nd Edition of the TNK here in Baguio, as the first was conducted during the celebration of Labor Day (May 1).
“If I may say, we are one of the regions with the most number of business entrepreneurs who attended that May 1 at Baguio Convention Center, and we are the region which started TNK as early as today,” she added.
The caravan aims to bring employment opportunities and entrepreneurship to the grassroots level and DTI has been implementing a lot of entrepreneurship trainings on how to start a business, product clinic, business counseling, and consultation with financial institutions.
“We have to create negosyo centers to help businessmen and prospective businessmen in terms of facilitation of their business operations,” Pablo said.
DTI and DOLE also want to revolutionize entrepreneurship, to address the need for entrepreneurs and to create more jobs to generate employment through the establishment of more businesses. Mystica Laureta, UC Intern
