Ex SPM of Mt. Province gunned down after altercation

BAGUIO CITY (March 7, 2022)—  A former Board Member of Mountain Province did not reach the hospital alive after he was shot during an altercation of still unknown reason Sunday evening in Paracelis town in Eastern Mountain Province.
Cariño Saggid Tamang from Poblacion, Paracelis died of gunshot wounds from an armed assailant after an altercation at around 6:45 PM Sunday, police initially found.
Tamang was rushed to the Paracelis District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival while the suspect, who was not yet named, is under police custody.
Tamang served three terms as Board Member for District I from 2007-2010; 2010-2013 and 2016-2019 in Mt. Province.  He filed his certificate of candidacy for his third term as Board Member for District I last October 8, 2021, under the Nacionalista Party.
Tamang, who was the Barangay  Captain of Poblacion,  Paracelis from 1997 to 2002,   is survived by his wife, Emma Fagyan Tamiing, of Lanao, Bontoc Ili, Bontoc, Mountain Province and their four children.
