Explore the Art in Bloom: Maki Arts Tayo Manen at SM City Baguio

SM City Baguio in partnership with Pasakalye Group of Artist and the Pandaga Youth Artists opened the “Art in Bloom: Maki Arts Tayo Manen” last September 4, 2021. This collaboration is an art exhibit that features over 300 artworks from around 140 local artists and is located at the Lower Basement Gallery, Upper Ground Exhibit Hall, Upper Ground Hallways, and Level 2 Hallway.
The Art in Bloom is a series of art exhibits that wishes to support the local art community by giving artists a free area at the mall for them to display over 300 art pieces such as painting and sculptures. This is to also give an opportunity to expand the audience reach through a wider platform for budding and blooming artists.
In her welcome message, SM City Baguio mall manager Rona Vida Correa said that we have launched by far the biggest art fair held in SM City Baguio, Art in Bloom: Maki Arts Tayo Manen.
As a close-knit community with a deep love for the culture and the arts, we continue to further strengthen affinity with the local arts community by showcasing the talents of the local artists and their artworks to the mall.”
Former Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board, Venus Tan congratulates the artists and the city for their continuous effort to promote the arts and culture of the community.
“I’m hoping that SM will continue to be our partner in our quest to really put Baguio in the map, not only or us the Cordilleras both internationally too to be recognized.” Tan said.
Department of Tourism-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOT-CAR) OIC Jovita Ganongan shares her gratitude to the groups, artists, local
government, and SM City Baguio for supporting the local artists and the community in upholding their culture and arts.
City Councilor Hon. Vladimir Cayabas said that the city government of Baguio would not be able to do it alone without our dear partners and
department sectors. He also thanks SM for all the effort and initiatives always being a good partner to the City government of Baguio and for being an influencer so that other business establishments will do the same.
Pasakalye artist group founder Maricar Docyogen also expressed her gratitude to the SM management for having invited Pasakalye to do exhibits inside the mall.
She reiterated the history of how previous Art in Bloom exhibits at SM City Baguio grew from 150 works to more than 300 artworks displayed.
Docyogen said that art is a way of therapy to combat against the growing rate of depression due to the pandemic. They would like to inspire
individuals to join and express themselves as artists. Some participating artists have also just started recently, and more are encouraged to join the arts community.
