Fuel tanker fell into a ravine in Benguet

TUBA, Benguet – A driver luckily survive after his truck loaded with 24,000 liters of gasoline fuel fell down to a ravine early morning of Monday (Sept.14) at Sitio Bawek, Barangay Taloy Sur, Tuba, Benguet.
Police Colonel Elmer Ragay, provincial director of the Benguet Provincial Police Office said, the incident happened at 5:30 in the morning while the fuel tanker truck bearing MV File No. 0301-00001254188 driven by Diezon Asis Bernardo, 34, native and resident of Batasan Hills, Quezon City met a self accident going to Baguio City.
The driver sustained minor injuries (abbrasions) and was brought to Baguio General Hospital by responding BFP personnel for medical treatment while the said tanker incurred damages and no leak was observed.
Bernardo told police investigators that he overtook another fuel tanker and upon returning to his lane, allegedly, he lost control until he reached the sharp curved portion of the road then swerved to the right shoulder and subsequently fell down to a ravine about 8 meters and rested upside down.
