Gamot para sa kapwa; 18 years helping the community

BAGUIO CITY – An annual community medical and dental mission entitled “Gamot Para sa Kapwa” was conducted on Thursday, May 30 at the Event Center of SM Baguio, headed by Senior Project Manager Blessie Bertos.

The event started early morning and medical and dental services such as Electrocardiogram (ECG), mobile X-ray and medical consultations were given, and accompanied with free medicines.

Vitamins, maintenance medicines for diabetes and hypertension were also shared Gamot Para sa Kapwa already reached18 years helping the community through free medical and dental assistance since 2002.

It is a yearly activity in all provincial areas and Barangay health center counterparts. The mission is to give back gratitude to the society through community extension programs.

“Actually, ang goal namin ay makatulong sa community, we go all over the Philippines – Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao at kahit sa NCR once a year, to proivde medical and dental assistance sa mga patients”, Bertos mentioned during the interview.

More than 800 people were given free medical and dental assistance during the event, which is in partnership with the Philippine Military Academy Station Hospital; Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center; and Baguio 911 on Call, Inc.

The Gamot Para sa Kapwa project already has 16 medical and dental missions done across the country. It had just finished conducting in Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, and Pangasinan.

They are going next to the Bicol Region, particularly in Naga, Legazpi and Ormoc.
