Half Of Cordillera Provinces Under MECQ

AGUIO CITY (June 1, 2021) – Three provinces of the Cordillera region were placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) status starting June 1 to June 15, 2021.
Apayao, Benguet and Ifugao were declared under such status together with the City of Santiago, Isabela and Cagayan of Region 2 in North Luzon.
Other areas also placed under MECQ are: Puerto Princesa in Region 4-B in Southern Luzon; Iloilo City in Region 6 in Visayas; and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte in Region 9; Cagayan de Oro City in Region 10; and Butuan City and Agusan del Sur in Mindanao.
As of 12 midnight of May 31, 2021, Benguet logged 31 new confirmed Covid19 infections bringing the total to 8, 635 with 341 active cases.   The province also recorded 2 new Covid-related deaths making the total deaths to 207.  Apayao meanwhile has a total of 1,225 confirmed cases with eight Covid-related deaths. And Ifugao has a total of 4,174 confirmed cases with 25 Covid-related deaths.
Under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) status from June 1 to June 30, 2021 are the provinces of Abra, Kalinga,  and Mountain Province and also Baguio City in the Cordillera Region; Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino in Region 2; Batangas and Quezon in Region 4-A; Iligan City in Region 10, Davao City in Region 11, and Lanao del Sur and Cotabato City in BangsaMoro Administrative Region of Muslim Mindanao.
All areas of the country are under modified GCQ from June 1 to 30, 2021.
Upon the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), the extension of the GCQ status of the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal, or NCR Plus was approved.  The status will be from June 1 to 15, 2021.
Some restrictions, however, shall still be in place in NCR Plus limiting the capacities of certain industries.
