Pursuant to section 5.2.7.2 of the DILG Memo Circular No. 2020-062, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by Gov. Pacoy, with the assistance of Mayor Benjamin Magalong and City Councilor Francisco Roberto Ortega VI, bring home 80 La Union residents on March 25, 2020, who were stranded in Baguio City following the declaration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon by President Rodrigo Duterte on March 17, 2020.
The Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University headed by Dr. Jaime Manuel offered their two buses for free while PGLU covered the gasoline and the disinfection of the said buses. All 80 passengers underwent disinfection procedures prior to boarding.
Upon arrival, they will undergo the 14-day home quarantine protocol and were instructed to follow precautionary measures set by the Department of Health such as social distancing, wearing of masks, and proper setting aside of utensils at home, among others.
