How to maintain peace and order

July is a one month Police Community Relation on the members of Municipal Advisory Council which consist of the La Trinidad community, local government unit and the La Trinidad Police Municipal Station. July PCR Month is a simultaneous program nationwide.

According to Section 116 of Republic Act No. 7160, or the “Local Government Code of 1991”, and Executive Order (EO) No. 773, s. 2009, which calls for the further reorganization of the POC, every province, city, and municipality is mandated to create a POC. Likewise, every barangay, pursuant to EO No. 366, s. 1996, is mandated to create a Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC) as the implementing arm of the city/municipal POC at the barangay level.

Identifying the need of a place is very important in which the policeman should be informed of the different happening in order for them to know what kind of peace and order they should apply. As we all know, it depends actually to the different characteristic of province, municipal and city, the geographical area is also a must see, statistic figure of crimes, LGU/police/barangay officials and residents (volunteers) response on maintaining peace and order as a technical working group.

During the kick-off of the 23rd PCR Month last July 2, 2018 at Municipal Gym, La Trinidad Benguet, PCSupt. Joseph Cagayan Adnol of the Phil. National Police Academy, a former Police Community Relations officer of the Cordillera police said that “Residents of La Trinidad knows best of what the needs are and what is happening to their barangays. Let our policemen do their job, after all the President’s reason in increasing the salary of policemen is for us to do our job for the security and betterment of our community.” That is why continuing engagement of policeman to the community and vice versa is very important especially monitoring quarterly crime report to address arising concern.

In which La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda said that engaging a three-way communication of LGU, police and community especially of the concerned citizens must be practiced through seminar and trainings for a fast response in case of crime and calamity.

These are some of the LT PCR activities July 9 to 10 is an outreach program at Shilan and Wangal; July 13 Seminar for Youth and Out of School Youth on Anti-Drugs, Anti-Bullying and Soul Winning engaging our youth to Church; July 19, Seminar and Training of Brgy. Peace and Order Keeping Team; and July 30 is the culminating activity.

Well is a hand on hand system, in the Bible 1 Corinthians 1:10 King James Version (KJV),

“now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” This is yours truly Tita Ara Katter of 98.7 ZRadio FM that always reminds you “Ti panagkaykaysa, mangiwanwan iti naranyag nga pagsayaatan”.
