The Kibungan National High School sepak takraw girls’ team delivered a spirited performance to retain their bronze medal in the regu team category during the Benguet Provincial Athletic Meet on December 4 to 7, 2024. Composed of Vallery Kate Wansi, Leah Mycha May-os, Mhea Lycha May-os, Jarylle Keith Arison, and Karen Ducayat, the Kibungan squad opened the tournament with dominant form. They swept their elimination round matches, claiming a flawless 4-0 record against Tuba, Tublay, Buguias, and Itogon. Their unbeaten run secured the top spot in their bracket, with Buguias settling for second place.

In the crossover semifinals, Kibungan faced a formidable La Trinidad team. Despite a valiant effort, the girls fell short, losing in straight sets, 13-15 and 12-15, which relegated them to a tie for third place alongside Buguias. “While we’re proud to have defended our bronze medal, we know there’s room for improvement. We’ll train harder to climb the ranks next year,” said team captain Vallery Kate Wansi, reflecting the team’s determination to excel further
