LA TRINIDAD POLICE GEARS FOR CARAA 2025; TRAFFIC, SECURITY SET

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet

About 300 policemen from this capital town augmentation from the provincial police headquarters will be posted , to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and safeguard the public in Sunday (Feb. 23) opening activities of the 2025 Cordillera Administrative Athletic Association (CARAA) sports meet. Thousands of delegates and support groups are expected to converge for this annual school-based sports competition. In an interview, P/Lt. Col Zacarias Dausen said ‘there is no problem in terms of manpower and security.”

Traffic advisories will be strategically distributed to guide motorists and the riding public. To ensure smooth traffic flow, intersections, including Buyagan and the last gate of BSU, will be close at 1:30 PM. Signages will be placed in Shilan, Tawang, KM3, and Longlong to guide passing vehicles. Jeepney loop system will be implemented, with six jeeps will run clockwise and counter-clockwise with tarps for easy identification. The CARAA parade scheduled for February 23 will start at 1:30 PM, with delegates gathering at the Benguet State University (BSU) Oval .

The parade route takes participants from the last gate of BSU and ends at the Benguet Sports Complex in Baranhay Wangal here. Dausen added force multipliers to include Interns from local colleges and reservists will also assist in maintaining traffic and security during the games. To ensure smooth traffic flow, intersections, including Buyagan and the last gate of BSU, will be close at 1:30 PM. Six jeeps will run clockwise and counter-clockwise with tarps for easy identification, encouraging attendees to use public transport instead of using private cars. Authorities enjoined the cooperation of everyone for the success of the event. The public is urged to keep personal belongings secured at all during the conduct of the activities.
