La Union lone city to imposed ECQ(After City IATF convenes first delta case)

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – This lone city will be imposed Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) starting on October 1, 2021 under the approval of the Provincial Government of La Union and the Regional Inter- Agency Task Force (RIATF) after a Covid-19 Delta Variant case has been recorded over the weekend (Sept. 25, 2021) here.
According to the city government of San Fernando social page, the emergency meeting between the City IATF, and Agsangkamaysa a Gunglo nga Aywanan ti Sak-sakit nga Makaalis (AGASM) discussed the implementation of ECQ.
The City’s Comprehensive Contingency Plan for the Covid-19 Delta Variant has been activated, and all of the key members of the City Covid-19 Technical Working Group has been instructed to fast track the arrangement and preparation of all logistical requirements for the heightened lockdown restriction including the provision of relief goods and quarantine passes, as well as coordination with barangays
and affected establishments and offices.
City Mayor Hermenegildo Dong Gualberto urges to the public to adhere strictly to take precautions and follow the health protocols procedures even to used face shields aside from face masks, and time interaction should be lessened to 30 minutes.
On September 25, Mayor Gualberto released a public message regarding the results of the genome sequencing analysis conducted by the Philippine Genome Center of the University of the Philippines confirming one case of Covid-19 Delta Variant in the city.
Currently, the said patient is fully recovered from the virus. The City Health Office continues to engage here for its reintegration and strict monitoring of its close contacts.
The City Covid-19 Technical Working Group and City IATF have already held meetings to discuss the actions and interventions that will be implemented immediately especially the threat brought by this Delta Variant is more severe.
Delta Variant is more contagious and spread easier. Common symptoms are runny nose or blocked nose, sore throat, fever, prolonged headache, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, and muscle aches. This is more contagious and easier to spread.
