La Union political and religious leaders back Mayor Garcia’s congressional bid

TUBAO, LA UNION (March 25, 2022) – La Union’s political and religious leaders are vetting on second district congressional bet Dante Sotelo Garcia, citing his excellent leadership and people-centered brand of governance.
Led by La Union vice governor Mario Ortega, Mayor Jonalyn Fontanilla in Mayor Garcia’s hometown of Tubao, Bagulin Mayor Virgilio Flor, Burgos Mayor Robert Madarang Jr., former Bauang Mayor Martin de Guzman, Aringay Mayor Eric Sibuma, political leaders from the 11 towns of the province’s legislative district swear full support to Garcia’s dream of “bringing the government closer to the people.”
Religious leaders from the Catholic Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Crusaders of the Divine Church of Christ, Islam, United Methodist Church, United Church of Christ of the Philippines, and the Iglesia Filipina Independiente also have closed ranks with Mayor Garcia wishing for an honest and credible elections this May and issue-based and platform-reliant campaigning bereft of traditional money-politics and patron-based selection of political leaders.
Friday’s proclamation in Tubao kicks off the campaign-to-victory of the Team Garcia hoping to amass not only the growing support of the people in the second district of La Union but bring into their consciousness that good governance redounds to their welfare and progress.
“Namnamaen tayo ti nainget a panagkakammayet dagiti buyot ti kinasayaat, haan a kinadakes,” (We hope for strong bond of the forces of truth and goodness, not evil), Congressional bet Garcia, a veteran political leader rising as a youth representative (Sanggunniang Kabataan) in Tubao to the town Sangguniang Bayan then as town mayor for multiple terms.
“Ti ayat tayo iti umili ti nangnangruna nga silaw tayo paturong iti pannakapadur-as ti il-ili ti maikadwa a distrito ti probinsya babaen kadagiti programa, proyekto ken ganwat nga agserbi iti umili,” (Our love for the people is our primordial beckon towards the development of our communities through programs, projects and efforts that serve the peoples interests).
