Lasam, Cagayan Administrator Gunned Down

BAGUIO CITY (November 29, 2020) — Lasam, Cagayan policemen are still groping for answers into the slay of the town’s administrator along barangay Callao Norte early Sunday morning.

Benjamin Augustos Agatep, 55, was found sprawled on the dirt by the roadside still on his bicycle but bathed in blood at barangay Callao Norte, at around 5AM Sunday, Cagayan Valley regional police said.

Cagayan Valley region police spokesperson Col. Andree Abella said Lasam police received a phone call about Agatep killed by the roadside.

Crime scene investigators found out that a caliber 45 pistol was used in the shooting though no witness have come forward making it a difficult time for police to inch into the probe.

What the police only knows at the moment is that the suspects who fired several times based on what residents only heard and used a motorcycle as their getaway vehicle, Abella said.
