MUNICIPALITY OF LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET- Lubas Elementary School Cultural Dance Troupe
(LESCDT) the youngest participants joined the grand street dance parade in the recent Strawberry Festival with the theme” A Festival for recovery: A Festival for recovery: Building a brighter future from adversities”, on March 18. The LESCDT joined the competition in the street dancing that showcase their talents in playing the gongs and dancing their ethnic dance movements.

The LESCDT performed the Bendiyan Dance. It is a ritual and ceremonial dance to celebrate victory and bountiful harvest. It performed to entertain local and foreign visitors. The public enjoyed watching the grand float and the street dancing parade featuring the LESCDT organization and the students, as they performed from Km. 6 to 5.

The dance parade showcased the creativity of the school participants as seen in the flower-filled and colorful presentation while resourcefulness in using recycle materials were seen, meanwhile the floats of barangay Lubas was also seen pulled manually. The LESCDT was organized to develop the love of learners to their culture, embraced the beauty of Benguet dances and to develop their skills in playing the different ethnic musical instruments which can helped them relate to their learning to the society.
