LFTRB-CAR HAS A NEW REGIONAL DIRECTOR

BAGUIO CITY

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista has appointed and sworn into office Atty. Richard Gannaban Dayag as the new DOTr-Cordillera Administrative Region regional
director. Dayag, a lawyer by profession, is regarded as pro- people and advocating for the rights of the underprivileged and marginalized. Prior to his appointment, Dayag served and held different
positions such as: Baguio Chief Attorney; Chairperson of the Human Rights Action Team (HRAT); Justice Sector Coordinating Council-Justice Zone Vice-chairperson; City Traffic and Transportation
Counsel; Integrated Bar Chapter Auditor.

Atty. Dayag who is also known to be firm and decisive, is a litigation lawyer in the Cordilleras, practiced civil, criminal and labor law. His background and his dedication to serving the people make him a valuable asset to the national government, DOTR and LTFRB. As the new regional director of LTFRB-CAR, Atty. Dayag, amidst challenges, particularly with that of the public transport modernization program, is expected to deliver national public land transport policies, harmonize them with the welfare of the public land transport sector, while ensuring that the needs of the riding public are met.

The LTFRB exercises enforcement and quasi-judicial powers regulating public land transportation.
Atty. Dayag is not a stranger to the public transport sector as his father was a tricycle driver before he bacame a police officer, so also his grandfather, who used to operate and drive a tricycle for hire until his recent death at the age of 87. Both his father and grandfather used to ply the routes of Tuguegarao City.
